    New York City: 25 Madison in New York City is headquarters for Sony Pictures Classics and Sony Music Entertainment (SME) and Sony Corporation of America. Sony Pictures Classics is an autonomous division of Sony Pictures Entertainment that distributes, produces and acquires independent films from the United States and around the world. SME is a global recorded music company featuring a broad array of both local artists and international superstars from label groups that include Columbia, RCA, Epic, Sony Music Nashville and Sony Classical. Sony Corporation of America is the U.S. headquarters of Sony Corporation, based in Tokyo, Japan. The beautiful building is a magnificent 32-story art deco treasure and is an iconic and quintessential New York City trophy building.

    Miami: Our Sony Pictures office in Miami is the gateway to Latin America for Sony Pictures Television's Networks group.

    London: Based in the heart of London's West End, 25 Golden Square houses Home Entertainment, Television, Motion Picture Group and Corporate employees who support SPE's business across EMEA.

    Vancouver: Sony Pictures Imageworks is the Academy Award®-winning visual effects and animation unit of Sony Pictures Motion Picture Group known for live-action visual effects, dynamic creature and character animation and all-CG animation. The company, headquartered in Vancouver, B.C., recently completed work on Sony Pictures Animation's HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA 2, Columbia Pictures' PIXELS, Clint Eastwood's AMERICAN SNIPER, Columbia Pictures' FURY, Marvel Studios' GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, the Warner Bros. feature EDGE OF TOMORROW and THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 for Columbia Pictures.

    Tokyo: Sony Pictures Entertainment Japan, also known as SPEJ, has two offices in Tokyo which include Television, Home Entertainment, Motion Pictures and Corporate employees. Tokyo is also the home to the headquarters of SPE's parent company, Sony Corporation.

Thalberg Building

Thalberg

The Irving Thalberg building houses SPE's senior corporate leaders as well as the bulk of the Studio's Motion Picture Group employees. The lobby features Columbia Pictures' 12 Best Picture Academy Awards® and in the basement you'll find six screening rooms where the Studio holds its Employee Screenings Monday through Wednesday evenings. The building also houses Ricoh, our reprographic services center and the Video Library where employees can check out free DVD's.

Harry Cohn Building

Harry Cohn Building

At the corner of 4th Avenue and Main Street lies the Harry Cohn building which houses Sony Pictures Television employees, the studio's Commissary and The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.

The Commissary offers a wide range of lunch and breakfast items including an SPE subsidized daily special and salad bar as well as made-to-order sandwiches, pizza, a wok station and more. There's plenty of seating inside, outside on the patio, or beyond in Calley Park. Weekly employee Happy Hours are held at the Commissary and during the summer employees and their guests may participate in games of ping pong, bocce ball and horseshoes.

Jack Cohn Building

At the end of Calley Park is the Jack Cohn building, which houses Sony Pictures Television's worldwide networks and marketing employees. The ground floor of this building includes SPE's state-of-the-art Athletic Club. Open Monday though Friday from 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., the gym boasts a large selection of exercise equipment, including an array of cardio equipment, a full circuit of resistance machines, a free weight patio and free fitness classes for all members. A sports court accompanies the gym facilities and is located at the top of the Culver Motor parking garage. Year-round sports leagues and other events provide employees with fun, team-building, and informative options. Regular full-time, non-union hire, and show hires are generally eligible for complimentary membership. If you do not fit into one of those categories, contact the Athletic Club directly.

Sony Pictures Plaza

Sony Pictures Plaza

Located across the street from the Studio's Madison Gate is Sony Pictures Plaza, also known to employees as SPP. Here you'll find SPE's Home Entertainment, People & Organization, Information Technology, Procurement and Legal employees. On the first floor atrium lobby is the SPE Tour Department where employees can buy discounted tickets for their friends and families. A Studio Store is also available offering employees movie tickets, Sony Pictures DVDs, greeting cards, magazines and snacks. SPP also has its own "Marketplace" commissary featuring an SPE subsidized daily special and salad bar as well as made-to-order sandwiches, pizza and pasta.

Rainbow

The Rainbow

As you enter through the Madison Gate you'll find yourself somewhere "under" the rainbow. The 94-foot tall steel art piece pays homage to the studio lot's history. The 1939 film classic The Wizard of Oz was shot in the late 1930's on the backlot of what was then Metro Goldwyn Mayer. “Rainbow," by Tony Tasset is part of Culver City’s public art program which was established in 1988.

Stroll down Main Street and you'll see a lot of what's great about working on the Studio lot in Culver City.

  • The Gene Kelly Building is where to get your SPE I.D. badge and parking assignment. Employees can even have their passport photo taken. Around the corner on First Avenue is the Cashier's window, where you'll pick up your paycheck on Fridays for the first few weeks of your employment.

  • The Gower Cafe is open for lunch and features a rotating weekly selection of delightful favorites.

  • The Studio Store carries a wide variety of Sony Pictures branded clothing, novelties and other items, including swag from popular SPE film and TV shows. Employees can also purchase Sony Pictures DVDs, greeting cards, magazines and snacks at discounted rates. In addition, the Studio Store provides other employee services such as self-serve Fed-Ex shipping with discounted rates, postage stamps and movie tickets.

  • At Yogurtland you can satisfy your sweet tooth with a selection of refreshing yougurt flavors and toppings.

  • The Sony Family Center is your destination for Sony Electronics with discounted employee pricing. Just present your valid Sony Pictures I.D. badge to receive discounts on TVs, cameras and other electronics for you and your guests.

Stages

Stages

Sony Pictures offers some of the largest and most versatile sound stages with a total of 18 stages ranging in size from 7,600 to 42,000 square feet. Stage 15 was once touted as the largest soundstage in North America and is where the yellow brick road wound towards Oz in the 1939 classic Metro Goldwyn Mayer film The Wizard of Oz. Stage 30 includes a large tank and is well known for providing the water settings for classic movies starring Esther Williams, and Stage 27 housed a recreation of the Vatican for the Columbia Pictures film The Da Vinci Code. The popular television game shows Wheel of Fortune and JEOPARDY! are taped on stages 10 and 11. You can get free tickets for yourself, family and friends.

John Calley Park

John Calley Park

John Calley Park is located in the center of the studio’s historic 44½ acre lot, and serves as a central gathering spot for employees and visitors. Studio-wide meetings, seasonal outdoor barbecues, health fairs, Earth Day gatherings and other special events take place in this large outdoor setting.

Get Involved!

There are many different ways for employees can get involved and connect with each other including:

Employee Business Resource Groups: EBRGs are formed by employees who share a commonality or interest and are designed to foster professional development and upward mobility through networking and outreach opportunities. Established groups are Emerging Professionals, Latinos Unidos, Out@SPE, SEAD (African Diaspora), SPE Veterans, WAVE (Women), WiT (Women in Technology) and SPARC (Asian Resource Community).

ACT, SPE's employee volunteer program offers a host of service opportunities ranging from mentoring youth to building homes; and strives to connect SPE employees to organizations that serve the homeless, restore native habitats and help those in need.

KENKO groups can be formed by groups of employees who share an interest in health and wellness activities, such as walking, cooking, family/parenting, nutrition or other interests allowing them to relate to each other and their networks through shared experiences.

The Greener World encourages individual and community participation, sharing ecological solutions, offering educational opportunities, promoting innovation, and modeling sustainable practices. SPE's green initiatives include incentives for purchases of hybrid cars and solar housing panels and the Idea to Action program that funds employee ideas.

Jimmy Stewart

Jimmy Stewart

The Jimmy Stewart building houses SPE's Security and Environmental Health & Safety department as well as Adminstrative Services and corporate employees from Legal, Global Policy & External Affairs and Risk Management. The building has two screening rooms on the ground floor where producers and directors can screen their films. Jimmy Stewart is a great example of Sony Pictures' commitment to the environment and features a 232 DC kilowatt solar array that sits on the roof. These panels, installed in 2008, have generated over 1.5 million kwh of clean, renewable energy.

  • The Culver Studios Office Building

    The Culver Studios Office Building

    Just east of the main lot at 9050 Washington Blvd. is The Culver Studios Office Building known to employees as TCSOB. Here you'll find the home base for Sony Pictures Animation employees as well as SPE's Travel Department, Worldwide Product Fullfilment group and Global Mastering and Servicing department.

  • Corporate Pointe

    Corporate Pointe

    SPE's Corporate Pointe offices are located about a mile away from the studio lot. The business units here include Information Technology, Payroll, Accounts Payable, Residuals, and Participations. Corporate Pointe also features the Technology Learning Center which provides a wide variety of computer training solutions to the global SPE community and affiliated companies.
